Tulips
31 07 2011This wall hanging looks good in just about any room in the house. The inscription, “Tip Toe Through The Tulips” makes it especially good for a baby’s nursery. It measures approximately 2 1/2′ high x 4′ wide.

Marathoner
31 07 2011This king size quilt was made for a lady who was very proud of her husband’s athletic accomplishments. He had run in several marathons including the New York and Boston marathons. The T-shirts he wore in each of the marathons were cut into squares and placed on stabilizing material. A casing was placed at the top of the quilt so it can be hung on a wall. It makes a very attractive commemorative quilt.

Wisteria Tree
31 07 2011This piece was commissioned by a lady who wanted a “Tiffany” style stained glass piece in her bathroom. The window over her jacuzzi was a solid pane of glass. She likes the Andersen grid style of window, so that was incorperated into the design. The piece is 54-3/4″ wide x 61-7/8″ wide. Reinforcing wire is used in the upper portion of the design to give added strength to the opaque glass. The outer vertival edge and bottom horizontal edge are U channel zinc came. The interior horizontal and vertical lines are 3/4″ lead came. The top arch is 1/2″ lead came Reinforcing bars were added along the second arch from the top that flanged outward to the upper corners. Two vertical bars were attache to it running vertical along the first interior grid line from either side. A forth bar was added between the two verticals along the first grid up from the bottom. This added the strength and stability to the piece that it needed for its size.

Peacock
31 07 2011This commission came from a lady who likes peacocks. So much so, that peacock feathers were incorporated into the flower bouquets in her wedding. The piece is 29″ high x 16″ wide. It contains 456 pieces of glass with a foil overlay that gives the impression of over 520 pieces. Reinforcing wire is used vertically and horizontally to add strength to the work. The upper part is encased in U channel zinc came. The tail is encased in U channel 1/2″ lead came. It hangs in a central location in their new home.

Underwater Scene
26 04 2010A client in South Carolina wanted a “ewe-nique” way to display the hand blown fish that her daughter had made for her. She requested an underwater scene with two shelves for the fish to sit on. Here is the custom piece, measuring in at 41″ high x 49″ wide:
The stained glass is mounted in front of a window made of glass blocks. The use of transparent glass gives a very wavy look induced by the glass blocks underneath. The shelves the fish are sitting on (although difficult to see in this picture) are made with clear baroque glass which further adds an underwater appearance around the fish.
This piece is constructed with: transparent glass, clear baroque glass, reinforced wire in several seams, foil, lead solder, and zinc channeling—horizontally/vertically and the boarders.

Our Home Transom and Door Panels
29 12 2009These pieces are some of our earliest work. The Transom (above the door) piece depicts the 12th green at “Amen Corner” at The Masters in August, GA. It’s 32″ wide by 15″ at its peak. The two window panels are 8 1/2″ wide by 36″ high and they are each a vine of roses. All three pieces are foil and soder with metal frame. We installed them over the existing windows so they can be removed if we move but they could be installed in place of the windows.
